Stop the Adsense Spiral

One of the hardest things to get right on the Internet is Adsense. What is Adsense?

Adsense is the Google Advertisements that many website owners use to maximise or monetise web pages.

It is a list of possible answers relating to your question to Google, down the right hand side of a web page. Or occasionally across the top of the Page in a slightly different colour. We are all familiar with the words "Ads by Google"

It's not only the Google search engine that offers these alternate answers to your question as there are others like Yahoo and MSN. But as Google has the Lions share of the advertising market on the Internet, this is who we are concentrating on here. There are literally hundred's of thousands of articles and products related to Google Adsense; most of which don't live up to the promises made in their overly-hyped sales letters.

Adwords is where people make up their Ads they want people to see for their products, and these are then offered to web Publishers (website owners) in the form of Adsense to be shown on a website owner’s website. Adsense and Adwords are the two sides of the same coin.

What is a web publisher? A web Publisher is someone who owns a website. Many web publishers’ own more than one website and some have hundred's of Websites.

The secret is to get the highest paying Ads to show on your web pages relating to the content on your web pages. The Google Spider does a pretty good job at deciphering what the content is on your web pages and sends you Ads related to that Product.

Now some Ads pay higher than other Ads depending on what Google has decreed the Adwords price for a keyword should be based on demand. You see, some words (known as Keywords) cost an advertiser more to use, so the secret is to find those words and display content on your web pages relating to those high paying keywords. This brings in higher earnings for the web publisher or website owner.

The Google spider is sometimes called the Google Bot and has several other names, some of which are not printable.

Frustration and disappointment are common ailments afflicting web publishers.

Can you make a living from Google Adsense? It is possible and this is the "Holy Grail" that web publishers are chasing. Many people are making a comfortable living while others are making an outstanding living and enjoy a very comfortable lifestyle.

The majority of web publishers though barely make a few dollars a month.

That is why having a good guide is essential if you want to pursue more than a few Dollars a month and the ever decreasing downward spiral to frustration and giving up on trying to make Adsense work for you.

Let me ask you a few questions. If you were going on a long car journey or travelling to an unknown area, would you look it up on a map to see where you needed to go?

Would you accept directions from someone? How about equipping yourself with a GPS like I have because I can't navigate for quids! When Allan Pease said "...and women can't read road maps" he was quite correct.

I'm one of those people who need someone to take me by the hand and show me how to get there. But once I've been there, I always know how to go there again. It's the same with learning how to make a living with Adsense. You simply need a good map or a GPS first. In this case we need a Google Positioning Service (GPS) guide to Decode Adsense for us.
